Hi there, I'm Cara!

 

I'm the brains and hands behind To Love and Dye. I've been vegan for over 20 years, a knitter since I was in elementary school, and forever sensitive to wool and acrylic fibers.

 

I've always admired beautiful hand dyed fibers while browsing local yarn shops, but where were the plant based yarns in these gorgeous variegated colors? Unavailable in stores and challenging to find online. So with years of experience tie dyeing clothing, I figured I was well equipped to start my own line of hand dyed vegan yarn!

 

After tracking down suppliers of cellulose yarn, experimenting with techniques, and playing with colors, I'm thrilled that I'm able to bring more hand dyed plant based yarn to the market! Vegan crafters and crafters with sensitive skin deserve amazing yarn too!

 

I regularly attent pop-up markets in the Portland, OR metro area and aim to gain a larger presence in our amazing local yarn shops! If you're local, I hope to meet you soon!
